CoEnzyme Q10 is another powerful antioxidant that may protect low
density lipoproteins from oxidation. The oxidation of LDL’s begins the
buildup of plaque in our arteries. CoQ10 also improves cardiac function in
patients with congestive heart failure.
One study on patients with congestive heart failure showed that "the
addition of coenzyme Q10 to conventional therapy significantly reduces
hospitalization for worsening of heart failure and the incidence of
serious complications in patients with chronic congestive heart failure."
