POLICOSANOL - for healthy cholesterol levels

There is now a natural substance that may lower 'bad' LDL cholesterol, raise 'good' HDL cholesterol and balance total cholesterol as effectively as some leading pharmaceuticals. Natural Factors’ Policosanol is a very safe substance derived from the outer wax of the sugarcane plant. Excellent research and clinical trials show that the fatty alcohols in Policosanol are safe and have a beneficial effect on cholesterol.

In placebo-controlled trials, research showed that patients who took Policosanol once a day with the evening meal for 24 weeks lowered their LDL serum cholesterol between l8.5 and 25.6 percent. This is quite a significant reduction.

Policosanol is exceptionally safe. Clinical trials show that elderly persons, diabetics and those with liver damage can safely take Policosanol. Currently, studies show that Policosanol does not affect blood thinning and there is no interaction between Policosanol and blood-thinning medications such as warfarin. It is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women.

Everyone with a high risk for cardiovascular disease should consider using more fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes in place of red meat and saturated fat. Consider incorporating a daily multi vitamin that includes the important homocysteine-lowering B Vitamins, as well as extra Vitamins C, E, and omega-three fish oils or flaxseed oil.

For more information on Natural Factors’ Policosanol stop in at your 'Feelin' Good Naturally' health foods stores and ask our friendly staff! We'll be glad to help
